Boxing

Boxing builds the striking foundation: footwork, timing, defence, and the ability to deliver clean shots under pressure.

What it is

Boxing is timing, footwork, and precision. It’s the cleanest laboratory for distance and rhythm.

What it develops

A functional guard, jab literacy, angles, and the ability to hit without being hit.

In practice

Technical rounds, focused sparring, and integrating boxing into JKD and clinch entries.

How we train it

Lineage & influence

My boxing is strongly shaped through Bob Breen — not “sport-only,” but functional boxing that holds up in real contact. This is one of the pillars of Martial Flow’s striking.

How we train it

  • Footwork: balance, pivots, exits, and re-entries.
  • Timing: rhythm breaks, feints, and interception.
  • Defence: guard discipline, head movement, and intelligent clinch transitions.

How it fits the system

Everything is trained for transfer. We pull the highest-value pieces of each art, then test them under progressive pressure. You’ll see how this range connects to the full continuum: awareness → timing → contact → control.

Holistic outcomes

Skill builds confidence. Confidence builds boundaries. Boundaries build calm. Calm makes skill usable.

Next step

If this art is your entry point, we’ll map a training path that connects it to the rest of the system.
