What it is

JKD is an approach, not a costume. Intercept, simplify, adapt — and keep what works under pressure.

What it develops

Distance, timing, interception, and the ability to switch tools without hesitation.

In practice

Alive drills, progressive sparring, and a small, high-percentage core that you can actually apply.

How we train it

Lineage & foundation

My JKD foundation comes through Bob Breen (4D Combat), under whom I earned Black Belt in JKD / Kali. Bob is a martial arts genius — exceptional clarity, zero ego, and a ruthless focus on what holds up.

Integration influence

The broader framework is informed by the Inosanto lineage and Daniel Lonero — emphasising cross-range problem-solving and intelligent integration.

Training method

  • Tools first: build clean fundamentals before adding complexity.
  • Progressive pressure: structure → resistance → controlled sparring.
  • Personal game: we shape the system to your attributes and goals.

How it fits the system

Everything is trained for transfer. We pull the highest-value pieces of each art, then test them under progressive pressure. You’ll see how this range connects to the full continuum: awareness → timing → contact → control.

Holistic outcomes

Skill builds confidence. Confidence builds boundaries. Boundaries build calm. Calm makes skill usable.

Next step

If this art is your entry point, we’ll map a training path that connects it to the rest of the system.
